Lose Weight And Love It
by Suzanne Kane

Do you want to lose weight but just can’t seem to stick to a regular diet? Now you don’t have to concern yourself with adding up calories and weighing every single item you consume. By following a few simple guidelines, you will find that you will be able to lose weight and love it at the same time.

Does this sound too good to be true? It’s not, actually. A healthy lifestyle – which actually means adopting sensible eating habits and incorporating exercise and a positive attitude – is easier than you think. It’s all about your outlook. If you are positive and upbeat, you already have a leg up on the kinds of changes you want to make. In this case, we’re talking about how you can safely lose weight. After all, it is your body, and you are living with it. You can ensure that it’s the best body you’re able to inhabit simply by incorporating these simple lifestyle changes and sticking to them.

What do you have to do to lose weight?

Let’s start by outlining what you can avoid doing: no daily charts, logs, weighing yourself morning and evening. That’s not a lifestyle change; that’s paranoia. Here’s the better way to lose weight: have fun! That’s the main idea. Your weight loss will occur as a natural by-product of your lifestyle changes. Yes, your quest to lose weight will become a way of life.

Do you have to deprive yourself, starve yourself, and never have a hot fudge sundae again? Absolutely not! It’s all about moderation, and everyone deserves a reward day once in a while. I love chocolate, but I know that if I eat chocolate every day I’ll gain weight. It’s as simple as that. The key is balance and moderation. And, get up off the couch and exercise! That’s the best way to lose weight.

Speaking of exercise, do you know that walking is the single best exercise you can do to lose weight? We walk every day anyway, getting in and out of our cars, going to the supermarket, shopping at the mall, just doing our jobs and daily errands. These steps count just as if you’re hiking a trail. Of course, a trail hike is much more enjoyable (and possibly more rewarding to your body and your mental health) than a mall walk or other daily trek. But every step counts in your move to your healthy lifestyle. And they all count in your effort to lose weight and look great.

As for liquids, drink water, water and more water! This doesn’t mean you have to refuel yourself like a car with 20 gallons of liquid. It means that you should incorporate a lot more glasses of water than you probably already consume (unless you’re already drinking eight 8-ounce glasses per day). Water helps your body to rehydrate naturally. It’s readily available and affords you the best method to flush accumulated toxins from your body. Don’t think that drinking water will lead to weight gain! That’s not going to happen if you eat the right kinds of foods, exercise and incorporate other healthful tips.

How fast will you see results (lose weight)?

Depending on your starting point (current weight, height, body type, etc.), you should be able to see a definite improvement (i.e., lose weight) after about two weeks. I notice a change within about four days – my jeans fit a little looser and I can breathe without feeling like I’m going to pop my zipper. (Note: I like my jeans extra tight, so I notice right away when I’ve put on a few extra pounds.)

Ready to begin? Then today’s the day you start to explore just how you can achieve your goal to lose weight – and love it!
